Laura Found Her Dream Job
Through your generous support, we have been able to help thousands of individuals find and maintain meaningful employment in the community. In 2019 alone, more than 175 MSS participants have been supported in various stages of their employment journey.
One of those individuals is Laura Andert, of our St. Paul program.
Laura has been with MSS since 2010 and was featured in our eTrac® video and used the online software to help her get a job with Lifetime Fitness. Laura’s dedication and work ethic are matched only by her determination to continue to work toward her ultimate employment goal. “My dream job was to be working in a corporate setting,” Laura said. “MSS has always been there for me and they helped me conquer through my barriers and showed me to always persevere and advocate for myself.”
MSS Employment Specialist, Tammi McDonald, has enjoyed watching Laura’s progress. “It has been a pleasure supporting her in her employment journey,” Tammi said. “She is very determined and focused on reaching her goals.”
Laura reached her goal when she earned a job at WeCo Accessibility Services in Minneapolis. WeCo assists people living with disabilities to better understand how to access websites/documents/software/mobile aps. They accomplish this by employing individuals as accessibility testers and specialists to provide a level of service and information to their clients that is unmatched in the industry.
Laura is flourishing in her role as an administrative assistant. “Laura is a bright, capable, and eager employee who is using her talents in a role that calls upon her skills,” says WeCo Founder and President, Lynn Wehrman. “We see that she is capable of more and look forward to the day when she exceeds even her own expectations.”
Because of your support, we are able to provide Laura and so many others, the opportunity to reach their goals!
