during Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We want you to know that while our services may be temporarily limited or altered due to the pandemic, we are here for you. Together, we will pull through this challenging time. We, like other non-profits, have no contingency budget for the civil emergency of COVID-19.
We encourage you to double down for organizations serving our most vulnerable members. Whether you have made gifts to us for years or this would be your first, we welcome gifts in all sizes. Everyone’s combined dollars send a powerful message of hope during these uncertain times. Donations support MSS and the people we serve. We need you and are grateful for you. We understand not everyone will have the means to make a donation during these uncertain times, but there are other ways to support MSS.
Amazon Smile
Make MSS your charity of choice on Amazon Smile!
Amazon allows shoppers to shop through AmazonSmile for the same products, with part of the amount you spend being donated to MSS. Just go to smile.amazon.com and select MSS as your charity of choice. This works for all of your Amazon shopping.
If you use a computer or phone app, make sure to select MSS and Amazon Smile each time you shop, or use Smilematic, a free Google Chrome extension that will automatically turn your everyday Amazon purchases into AmazonSmile donations.

Join AmazonSmile
If you are not already an AmazonSmile member, sign up on your web browser. Simply select your favorite charity to start generating donations, at no cost to you.
Get the app
Download or update to the latest version of the Amazon Shopping app on your phone. You can find it in the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android.
Turn on AmazonSmile
Open the app and find ’Settings’ in the main menu (☰). Tap on ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.

Your eGift cards will be available in your account within a few minutes. Physical gift card orders are placed on the first and third Fridays of the month. You will be contacted when they are available for pickup.

Fundraise on Facebook
You can create a fundraiser on Facebook to benefit MSS! Facebook charges no fees for donations made to nonprofits, and it doesn't cost you anything to set up!
To get started:
Choose the amount you’d like to raise, and set an end date (ideally, a couple weeks out).
Add a title and a short description of why you want your friends to support MSS, or use the default language.
Share with your friends and family!
Donate your unused gift cards
Do you have gift cards laying around that you mean to use, but never do? Let MSS put them to use to help the people we support and our staff. Some of the people we serve live independently and have extremely limited resources. Most of the 165 MSS staff members are now on furlough. Unused gift cards could help with groceries, gas, take out, and other useful items.

Make and donate masks
We are looking for volunteers to make and donate masks for our team to use when we open again in the future. Here are two pattern options to get you started:
Masks can be dropped off at MSS-St. Paul (enter on Ocean Street) or call 651-778-1000 to make other arrangements.
