Share your time and talent in one of the ways listed below, or contact us with your ideas!
Teach a class: Are you a skilled baker? Gardener? History buff? Teach a class/share information on a topic of your choosing!
Art and Music: Get involved with our award-winning Creative Arts program and work on pottery, screen printing, painting, woodworking, textiles, art facilitation and more. Share your musical gifts with us by playing an instrument, or teaching a mini-class about music, instrument instruction, songwriting, music composition or whatever your talents. Art and Music therapy students welcomed and encouraged.
Community Excursions: Assist staff and program participants on community outings-push a wheelchair, offer companionship and conversation, offer support and assistance with lunch and loading/unloading vehicle. Discuss the outing and make it an enjoyable experience for all persons involved.
Friendship: Come visit, tell a story about your travels or workplace, play a game, socialize
Games and Clubs: Run a BINGO game, facilitate a book club, coffee club or other shared interests among program participants
Movers and Shakers teach an adaptive dance or yoga class, adapted sport or other movement classes to a groups of adults with varying mobility capabilities
Volunteer Choice: Have a passion, talent or interest not listed above that you want to share? We can customize your volunteer experience to include your interest areas.
All volunteers must complete necessary paperwork, a series of online training modules, and be able to pass a background check. Volunteers are welcome Monday - Friday, any time between 9am - 2pm at any of the 6 MSS locations (St. Paul, Eagan, Apple Valley, Oakdale, Brooklyn Park and Shoreview).
